100 Words Contest

Early this year I wrote this short story for a contest organized by the Reader's Digest. Too bad that luck was not on my side. Well anyway, I took the challenge. Here is the short story:

Two businessmen had a heated conversation in front of an elevator. My friends and I were standing nearby yet I did not know their topic of interest. Spontaneously, I walked to the nearest glass window and cried out ‘Gone With the Wind!’ loudly before giggling uncontrollably.  I noticed the men had stopped talking and my friends were looking at me in disbelief. I was totally dumbfounded. After the absence of the businessmen, I discovered that they were talking about money. One of them had said “The money was gone” right before I foolishly said such thing. Speaking of coincidence huh?

NEWSFLASH: Flying to Sabah bah

The first  family reunion in Sabah.im meeting my flesh and blood anytime soon. Still stuck in LCCT waiting for the flight to departure at 19.40 pm. pray that hubby and i will safely arrive at KK Airport in one piece.

Da' Cheapest Lights and Fans!!

Let's have a close look at the picture above. You have to remember the place for it will be the place where your dreams can come true.  Haha....though it sounds like I exaggerate a lil bit but you won't believe it if I tell you that Hubby and I had saved lotsa money on them lights and fans. 

Moving into a new house demands an enormous budget so you have to be smart at shopping.

I was so excited to set foot in here  It is not that hard to find this place.

The moment I walked in, I saw many types, designs and colours of lights that surely will make you agape and your eyes getting bigger and soon you'll see dark spots everywhere due to looking straight at them bright and shining lights.

Take a look at the shots that I had captured while I walked down the aisle back and forth. I became quite frantic when choosing over the options that were laid in front of me. In my mind's eye, I had certain styles I wanted to have in my home deco but some were clashed with Hubby's interest. Uh-Oh. Guess what? The moment Hubby stood his ground which was against my will, I had started making faces and he as expected gave me a stern look. We ended up quarreling. This is the truth. YES! I WARN U!

Really love these type of chandeliers but I was not strong enough to say YES YES YES to Hubby.

The chinese boy who stood next to Hubby was the one who helped us throughout the whole process. But he was not that good. I guessed either he was the son of the owner or he was a rookie.

Getting all boxes fit into the car. 

Tell you what, the inside of the car was towered by the boxes. Hubby's seat had to be pushed a lil bit closer towards the steering wheel. Oh boy! He couldn't drive all the way in such position from Puchong to Terengganu. So we switched places. I drove all the way back.

Though we spent lotsa money at the 'Houses Lightings', we were smiling from ear to ear feeling satisfied with what we got for our new home. Hope you guys would feel the same way too. Enjoy shopping!!!

Aaron Firdaus Campbell is here in Malaysia

Aaron who is now almost 8 month-old weighing around 10.5 kg. That's pretty heavy for such a young baby. His energy is unexpectedly strong. If you have to hold him like Hubby did in the above picture, you have to be alert most of the time. He might lunged forward all in a sudden without you expecting it. 

All family members spoke to him in Bahasa Malaysia as we would like him to be exposed to his mummy's mother tongue. So far, I guess he understood our gestures and chit chat.

This picture was taken right before he was put in his 'buaian'....we made a ceremony for him....in Perak we call it 'Majlis Tarik Buai' which is totally different with Terengganu's 'Majlis cukur pala a.k.a Majlis Cukur Kepala.' Different name but the same old tradition.

The ceremony went well, alhamdulillah. Poor Aaron, he was all dressed up in a cute Baju Melayu but later he ended up wearing nothing other than his diaper due to hot weather.

Future Successful Businesswomen

Since almost everyone today runs online businesses, my partner in crime and I had decided to do the same. We thought of the idea over a week and walla..... the name chosen for our lil business is 'Schanista House'. Our very first product items are baju kurungs made and designed by the De' Alfa boutique.

I invested some money and we later created a page in the facebook. Whoever feels interested to find out more about the items on sale go GOOGLE it.

My share partner lives in Kuantan and to make it easy for us to meet, Cherating has been chosen as the most appropriate place for a business meeting.

Though our business is considered small, the desire to expand it to the next level is larger than our pocket money uols. hehe...

Alhamdulillah, the meeting went well. Before departed, we sneaked into Tanjung Inn, Cherating for our very own crazy photoshoot session.

Different

Yesterday.
It was the day.
The day I have been waiting for since 2008.

I was alone.
But I didn't care.
I was there to celebrate.

I plastered a smile on my face.
I talked with people who stood next to me.
I just couldn't believe it.
I was alone.
But it didn't stir my feelings even a bit. 

If the old me saw this,
She might steal a glance.

I felt carefree.
That's all that matter my dear friend. 

Life in the past 2 and +++ years

The moment I decided to further my Master in TESL, life has changed completely ever since. Continuous assignments ~ piles and piles of unfinished workload ~ time management failed ~ less of entertainment ~ successfully maintain the eye bags ~ communication broke down~ and the list goes on and on!

I was like pulling my hair most of the time due to stress. Not only that my time spent with family and friends were limited but I had lack of sleep and rest. Plus, traveling at such distance from Perak to Bangi every single week without fail totally got on my nerve. Thank god that back then I had my used to be Boyfriend a.k.a Hubby lived in Subang. The desire to see him had driven me on course. I never skipped classes (well almost). :p

Unlike some brilliant and I must say lucky students, I had no scholarship. I used my own money for the traveling and study fees. So just imagine how I felt everytime the money drained out uncontrollably before the end of every month. It was totally SUCK!!

Well, I went with the flow. Semester after semester, I was able to stay motivated to complete my Master. I guess I have cried more than a thousand times. Nobody really understood what I had gone through in the past few years.

Now, everything has started to pay off. I'm glad that I dared enough to challenge myself up to this point. The end of this October 2012, I would be attending my second convocation!! Yeahhh!! I could say that it is going to be one of my best moments in life!

Thank you Hubby for always being there for me!! Thank you Mak and Abah for believe in me!! Thank you kakak for your never ending moral support. Thank you lil bro for your inspiration. Thank you aunts and uncles for your hospitality and support. I would not have any other place to go if you guys didn't allow me to sleepover at your houses. Thanks for everything!! 

Now I AM FREE!!! Really hope that PHD cert will be in my hands soon. I'm still waiting for the opportunity to chase after it. Insyallah. May the force be with me.

Colmar Tropicale, Berjaya Hills

Such a breathtaking view! This is the place where I brought Hubby for our second honeymoon. Last year he took me to Italy while he was having a two-week course. This year I had him tagged along while I was having my 4-day course. Sounds fair enough? haha..Not really I guess. Well... I couldn't afford to spend lotsa money in France but a French-themed village and hotel are far better than not going anywhere. Don't you agree?

On the second day, I took the opportunity to pay the Japanese Village a visit. I was so eager to wear a Kimono with my colleague, Siti Syaziani that I didn't want to go elsewhere. Although we arrived quite late, the Chinese lady who worked at the Japanese house didn't shoo us away.

Look at the pic below. It was taken outside of the Japanese house. FYI, if it is considered normal to walk around in public places by wearing such cloth here in Malaysia, I would have worn it long long time ago. It is a good way to hide my spare tyres and love handles. hehe.

My last day in Colmar Tropicale was spent on snapping pics with my new friends. 

 We were glad that we accepted the offer to attend the course. The hotel room is fine and the foods are tasty.

Hopefully in the near future, I would bring my family members to this place. How about you?

Back to Basic

Today, I accidentally left my mobile phone back at home. Lost connection to the world (my world) for a while. Guess, I would totally freak out if I were still single. Why? Not being able to SMS or even call my significant other is a big NO NO NO! But things have changed now. I know that he would be doing just fine. Getting hitched has placed me in a peaceful state of mind. I know that towards the end of the day, I would either greet him at the front door or he would do that to me. Believe it or not...I even switched off my Hp while he was away to Italy and USA before. I am aware that no one would call me frequently as he does. What about my parents? Well, my mom loves to hear from me. She shares a lot of stories with me but nothing urgent. As long as I stay connected to the Internet, the absence of my Hp did not, does not and will not spoil my mood. What say you?

Leading to a New Life Direction

I dared myself to quit from my former job. Spent nearly a month at home as a full-time domestic engineer @ housewife. Next week, I will report duty at a university college. I was offered as a contract lecturer for a year and perhaps will be granted with a permanent status afterward.

Hope this time everything will be better. Insyallah.

My Second Trip to Sabah

First time travelling alone

I am here in Sabah since last 4th of July 2012. I am paying my sister a visit. She has just delivered a baby boy a week ago. Since this is my second trip to Sabah and my big sis is still in a confinement, I didn't go to many places. Nevertheless, I did stop by at one of the interesting places in Tamparuli. Below are some snapshots taken at the scene (Rumah Terbalik, Tamparuli).

The entrance fee is RM10 but I got a free pass :p.

My big sis's new house is only a few distance away from this place. I am leaving Sabah tomorrow evening. Most probably next time, I would bring Hubby here as well. Insyallah. :p
